▶  It is generally recognized that antimicrobial peptides and natu-
     ral products play an  important role in innate host defense
     mechanism of most living organisms including  plants, insects,
     amphibians and mammals.

▶ Antibiotics have become indispensable in the modem health care
     system by assisting and complementing the natural immune
     system. However, with the appearance of resistant strains,
     there is a continuous search for more potent and efficient
     antibiotic agents.

▶ Antibiotics act in two different ways; one by targeting the physi-
     ology of the pathogen, and the other by disrupting the cellular
     structure of the host cells. In the latter case of the targeting the
     structure, the antibiotics are relatively safe from encountering
     the resistant strains since mutations in the overall plasma-
     membrane structure are less  likely than variations in the
     enzyme physiology within a host cell.
     In order to develop of antibiotic  peptides or natural products
     and to understand  its mechanism, the analogue antibiotic
     peptides were designed and mechanisms was investigated by
     using cell biology techniques.
