The main study subject of my lab is the gram-positive bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. More specifically, we are studying the molecular mechanisms of bacterial virulence and antibiotic resistance. For those studies, we are investigating the roles of the following genes/systems: The SaeRS two-component system, the protease FtsH, the lipoteichoic acid synthesis system.
