The conference programme is essentially focused on applications of materials with high innovation potential. At the same time, fundamental approaches and processing related aspects for unconventional materials are addressed.
The conference is structured into 13 major topics including 38 symposia. More than 750 papers will be presented as lectures of a duration of 20 minutes, as keynote papers of twice that duration and as posters.
The symposia treat a subject up to a maximum of 2 days in parallel sessions. Plenary sessions with lecturers highly reputated in their field will open each day. The 240 posters will be on display during the entire conference and in poster sessions on two evenings. Sessions on Monday (25 Sept 2000) will focus mainly on light metal topics.
A full 4 days MATERIALS WEEK registration includes the attendence of all MAGNESIUM sessions and vice versa. The metal related subjects have been mainly considered for Monday and Tuesday, whereas non-metallic subjects are offered preferentially on Wednesday and Thursday.
