Internet of Things (IoT)는 IoT 개념을 확립시킨 Auto-ID 랩에서 주관하는 IoT 분야의 메인 학회이며 2008년을 시작으로 하여 2년에 한번씩, 올해로 4번째를 맞이하여 미국 MIT에서 10월 6일부터 8일까지 3일간 개최될 예정이다. 본 학회에서는 전세계 각지의 IoT 관련 산업체 및 학계 연구원들이 참가하여 수준 높은 연구 결과들이 발표될 예정이며, 일반 학생과 연구자를 위한 7개의 기술 세션이 열릴 예정이다.
본인은 본 학회에서 사물인터넷의 주요 네트워킹 기술인 6LoWPAN 기반 헬스케어 시스템에 대한 기술을 발표할 예정이며, 학회의 다양한 세션에 참여하여 전세계적 사물인터넷 연구 동향을 수집/분석할 예정이다.
본 학회의 관심 연구 분야는 다음과 같다.
- Mobile IoT: novel applications of smartphone technology for generating and consuming big data. Examples include interesting new applications of on-board sensors, making use of crowd sourced data, promoting e-commerce or enabling B2B, B2C and C2C connectedness.
- IoT device or circuit design: novel hardware that enables field intelligence and data generation, innovative concepts that enable pervasive sensing.
- IoT applications and services: embedded field intelligence applications that challenge the state of the art in fields such as agriculture, automotive, civil & industrial Infrastructure monitoring, health care and retailing.
- Architecture and systems design: reliability, sustainability, scalability, profitability and scope for interoperability of an IoT ecosystem; novel business models and services enabled by IoT.
- Cloud computing and semantic web technologies: data security, storage and access, communication protocols, linked data and web semantics for interoperability among users and devices.
- Interface and control systems: adaptive user interface design, data-informed actuation, and the interplay between the two
- IoT analytics: innovative algorithms and data analysis techniques for extracting meaning and value from the Internet of Things
