면역 시스템은 침입 병원체 방어를 위한 첫 관문으로 알려져 있으며, 조직발달, 항상성과 손상으로부터 재생에 중요한 역할을 한다. 최근 연구에서 면역 시스템의 세포성 및 체액성 요소 역시 손상 조직의 재생에 관여하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 논문은 손상 후 줄기세포와 다른 회복 메커니즘을 통한 조직 복원에서 염증세포와 그들의 분비 인자의 역할에 대한 주요 연구 업적에 대해 논의 하고자 한다.
