T 세포의 TCR을 통한 특이적 항원 결합은 적응성 면역 반응 유발을 위한 가장 중요한 첫 번째 key step이다. 이러한 특이적 항원인지를 위해서는 매우 유사한 ligand를 구분할 수 있는 selectivity 능력이 구비되어야 한다. 최근 30간 연구되어온 T 세포 신호전달을 위한 연구를 통해 특이적 항원 인지 및 신호 전달에 대한 분작적 수준에서의 기작에 대한 model을 제시한다. 현재까지 설명가능한 분자 기작과 앞으로의 과제도 동시에 논의된다.
