투명전자소자, 디스플레이, 센서, 태양전지, 멤리스터 그리고 전기변색 소자 등에서 투명산화물 반도체의 응용은 광범위하고 넓다. 산화물 반도체는 주로 n-type의 특성을 보인다고 알려져 있고, p-type 산화물 반도체은 특성이 낮아 사용이 쉽지 않았다. 본 리뷰 논문에서는 p-type 산화물 반도체의 최근 연구 개발 동향을 집대성한 것이다. P-type 산화물 반도체의 소재/TFT소자 더나아가서 CMOS 등 회로 제작에까지 어느 정도까지 수준이 향상되었으며 아직도 상용화를 위해 남은 문제가 무엇인지를 다루고 있어 이 분야 종사자들에게 유익한 자료라 판단된다.
