G 단백질 결합 수용체 (G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs))들은 다양한 리간드에 의해조절이 되며, 인간 유전체에서 약리적으로 타깃이 될 수 있다.
최근 구조 및 분자적인 연구를 통해서 구조적으로, 화학적으로, 기능적으로 다양한 리간드가 GPCR의 기능을 조절하는 기전들을 이해하기 시작했으며, 이런 분자적인 통찰력들은 새로운 컴퓨터 기법들을 통해서 혁신적인 리간드의 발견을 가속화 시키고 있다. 이에 본 분석물들은 최근 GPCR에 관한 과학적 사실들을 바탕으로, 이를 타깃으로 하는 치료법의 개발들에 대한 전망을 다루기에 분석의 의의가 있다.
