암오가노이드는 개별적 환자에게서 유래한 암세포가 3D로 배양되어 이루어 진다. 이는 환자에 상응하는 재료를 대량화하여 바이오뱅크를 구축하고 약물 스크리닝과 신약 개발을 용이하게 한다. 이러한 cancer-in-a-dish는 대장, 췌장, 위, 전립선, 유방암을 포함한 다양한 암에서 만들어 질 수 있다. 본 논문은 암오가노이드 배양법, 모델 시스템으로서의 암오가노이드 이점과 난점에 대한 최신지견에 대해 살펴보고 다른 전임상 암모델과 비교를 통해 신약개발을 위한 암오가노이드의 가치에 대해 평한다.
