Australian Science and Technology at a Glance is a pocket-sized reference on Australia's scientific and technological funding, infrastructure and performance. It provides quantitative data, particularly on research and development. Data are mostly presented in charts to emphasise trends over time and other forms of comparison. Selected comparitive data on OECD and Asia-Pacific economies are included.
The latest available data were used-mostly these were for the 1996-97 fiscal year. Most data were compiled from surveys performed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics(ABS) and international statistical agencies. The S&T Analysis Section of ISR uses these data to develop indicators and analyses to facilitate an informed debate on S&T and innovation policy issues. This booklet is an update of the 1997 edition and was produced principally by Luciano Lombardo and Anandhi Raj.
