The purpose of this brochure is to bring together and acknowledge the success of those TCS Programmes that were considered for a TCS Award in 1999 and to record some detail of them and cheir parricipants. Their success, considered at least 6 months after completion of their respective Programmes, serves to demonstrate that the mechanism now known simply as TCS not only delivers immediate benefits but continuing and lasting benefits. In particular, we believe that the benefits derived from participation in a TCS Programme by graduates - the tCS Associates - continue to have a positive impact throughout their careers in business.
As can be seen, the companies that participated in the 52 Programmes for which entries were submitted in 1999 ranged from the very large to the quite small. They also represent a wide range of UK business sectors, whilst the variety of academic groups and the descriptions of the project outcomes illustrate how far 'the Teaching Company S초듣' has moved from its early days, 25 years ago, as the engineering equivalent of Teaching Hospitals.
