This report is primarily about the scientific issues involved in the genetic modification of animals. While it does not address social and political issues, it does touch on some of the separate moral issues that may be involved in weighing up the burdens and benefits of using GM animals. The debate about GM animals must take account of wider issues than the science alone, but the Society wishes to stress the importance of informing such debate with sound scientific evidence.
