    • 인공지능 기술에 대한 글로벌 경쟁이 치열해지고 있다. 인공지능은 이제 단순히 기술 차원이 아닌 국가의 존위를 좌우할 수 있는 핵심으로 자리 잡았다. 이 리포트에서는 인공지능 기술에 대한 경쟁 및 발전 동향을 살펴보고, 국가 안보를 결정지을 수 있는 주요 인공지능 기술들과 그 사례를 분석해 보고자 한다. 국가 안보 관점에서 중점적으로 육성？보호 및 대비해야 할 기술은 크게 세가지로 반도체, 자율무기 시스템, 생성적 적대 신경망 등이 있다. 이 기술들은 모두 국익에 대한 영향력이 사활적 또는 결정적 수준으로 높은 기술들이며, 이를 중심으로 국가 안보를 지키는 데 필요한 사항들을 검토해 보고자 한다.
  • Executive Summary
    • Global competition for artificial intelligence technology is intensifying. Artificial intelligence has now established itself as a core technology that determines the status of a nation. This report examines the trends of competition and development of artificial intelligence technology, and analyzes major artificial intelligence technologies that can determine national security and their cases. From a national security point of view, there are three major technologies that should be nurtured, protected, and prepared for: semiconductors(Neuromorphic chip), autonomous weapon systems, and generative adversarial neural networks(GAN). All of these technologies have a high vitality(Survival) or decisive(Critical) level of influence on the national security. Focusing on these topics, this report will review relevant and fundamental matters necessary in protection of national security.
