By May 2007 all research grant applications for NIH will have to be submitted electronically through Grants.gov using the SF424 Research & Related (R&R) form set. This training session, geared toward the applicant community, will provide an overview of NIH???s transition plans, the submission process and the new form set. A question and answer session will follow the formal presentations.

The Stem Cell Interest Group was established to enhance communication and to foster collaboration among scientists from varying disciplines interested in stem cells. Topics of interest include fundamental stem cell biology, ontogeny, gerontology, and the therapeutic potential of stem cells. The SCIG serves as an open forum for discussion and dissemination of knowledge about all aspects of stem cell biology

- eGrants is a web-based document management application that represents a major step towards working grants electronically and is currently in use by nine ICs. eGrants transforms traditional grants paper processes into electronic databases accessible through the intranet. eGrants enables grants management, program, and support staff to retrieve documents from their computers instead of file cabinets or paper-based grant file folders. eGrants integrates documents from paper and electronic sources and also allows for the direct entry of user selected electronic documents including email so there is no need to print and scan the selected documents.

- All Federal research agencies are currently preparing for the implementation of policies and procedures to formally allow more than one Principal Investigator (PI) on individual research awards. This presents a new and important opportunity for investigators seeking support for projects or activities that clearly require a ???team science??? approach. The multiple-PI option is targeted specifically to those projects that do not fit the single-PI model, and therefore is intended to supplement, and not to replace, the traditional single PI model. The overarching goal is to maximize the potential of team science efforts, responsive to the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
