- The goal of the proposed workshop is to identify common challenges and foster interdisciplinary collaboration and synergy in the broad area of small vessel biology in health and disease, across various organs of the human body. The workshop will achieve this goal by strategically bringing together researchers from different relevant biomedical research areas related to small vessel biology or disease, many of whom have not yet worked together to significant extent. This has created knowledge gaps that the workshop will address through sharing research findings followed by several cross-disciplinary panel discussions, including a final discussion of lessons learned, common challenges, as well as immediate and future opportunities for synergy and collaboration to accelerate future advances in the field.
