Calculations of some key parameters were conducted for comparison. Experiments were arranged and carried out on 64$DGR Y-X LiNbO$-3$/ substrate based on the theoretical calculation result. The experimental results show that double-mode SAW has the advantages of low loss and wide bandwidth which can well meet the requirements of 902.5 MHz SAW filter used in GSM on the electrical performances. * Designs of SAW filter with two pass-bands and a trap, Zeng, Lun; Deng, Huizhong; Deng, Ke; Cheng, Jianyi; Deng, Qixian; Deng, Keqiang;, Zhongguo Kuangye Daxue Xuebao/Journal of China University of Mining & Technology v 28 n 3, p 81-86, 1999, 11 Abstract : Three methods for design of SAW filter with two pass-bands and a trap were studied and compared. The experiments show that the suppress at trap frequency can be effectively improved by using composed uniform IDT and modified MSC. The feasibility of the three methods were verified by experiments, they can fulfill different requirements respectively. * Computer aided design and analysis of SAW filters, Hugo, H.P.M., COMSIG 88 - Southern African Conference on Communications and Signal Processing, p 71-75, 1988, 8 Abstract : The basic principles of surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are discussed with specific reference to SAW filters. It is shown how digital filter theory can be applied to the design of SAW filters and a program based on this principle is presented. The effect of diffraction on surface acoustic wave bandpass filters is discussed and a program for the analysis of SAW filter responses including such diffraction is presented. Sample results are given, illustrating the severity of the effect of diffraction in SAW filters. * SURFACE-ACOUSTIC-WAVE RESONATOR FILTERS, Coldren, Larry A.; Rosenberg, Robert L.;, Proc IEEE v 67 n 1, p 147-158, 1977, 80 Abstract : This paper presents an overview of surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) resonator filter technology. Given the current state of the art, these filters promise reproducible low-loss ( less than equivalent to 6 db) narrow-bandwidth (500 less than equivalent to f/ DELTA f less than equivalent to 50 000) responses in the VHF and UHF ranges. Devices that contain one or a number of sections, each consisting of a resonant cavity between two grating reflectors and an input and output coupling mechanism, are considered. The initial discussion describes the layout, theoretical characteristics, and typical experimental responses of single-section two-port filters. The subsequent discussion focuses on multi-section devices using any of various intercavity coupling techniques. A generalized analysis and design formalism based on wave-serig theory is reviewed, and experimental results from a number of device prototypes are given. Finally, practical design and fabrication trade-offs and performance ranges are summarized for a number of configurations. * SAW RESONATOR FILTER OVERVIEW: DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE TRADEOFFS., Coldren, L. A.; Rosenberg, R. L.;, Ultrason Symp Proc, p 422-432, 1978, Abstract : Some of the design choices that have evolved for single-section as well as multisection SAW resonator filters are reviewed. The pros and cons of using various types of resonator components, such as transducers and gratings, as well as the pros and cons of using various of the resonator interactivity coupling configurations are summarized. Filter design and analysis based on wave scattering theory are reviewed. A quantitative comparison of computed two-section filter spectra at two different fractional bandwidths illustrate explicit features of the various coupling configurations. * Patent technology portfolio for SAW filters, Kim, Won D.; Lee, Kwang R.;, Proceedings of the 1994 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium. Part 1 (of 3) Proceedings of the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium v 1, p 139-142, 1994, 6 Abstract : Patent portfolio or patent mapping is a basic technology to pursuit research and development. The technology in patents goes 2 to 5 years ahead beyond the current devices and manufacturing technology. We had investigated the patents for the SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filter through WPI (World Patent Index) and PATOLIS (Patent On-Line Information System) database since 1971 through 1994. In this paper, we have found 690 U.S. patents and 3,673 Japan patents. Zenith of USA has 14% of patents of 10 main companies, it is interesting to compare with 21% of USA navy and army secretaries and 13% of Clarion of Japan in USA issued patents. The history and trend of the SAW filter technology and the analysis of SAW filter manufacturing (actually patenting) companies are discussed include the ultrahigh frequency (UHF) SAW filters for mobile communication. * On the development trend of GHz-band surface acoustic wave filters, Liu, Yisheng, Yadian Yu Shengguang/Piezoelectrics and Acoustooptics v 17 n 5, p 8-13, 1995 Abstract : Due to the rapid progress in the microwave communication systems such as the personal telephone, satellite communication and optical communication, the demands on the high-frequency SAW filters are remarkably increasing. Hence a brief introduction on the fabrication technology and principal properties of several types of GHz-band SAW filters was made here which covers the SAW filters of IDT/AlN/Al$-2$/O$-3$/ structure, of ZnO/sapphire substrate, of ZnO/diamond/Si structure, and with harmonic unidirectional transducer.
