Computer performs output of digital control data describing images. Specially designed control device is used to convert digital data coming from parallel port to the analog signal driving scanner. Capabilities of even cost nothing 286 computer are quite enough for laser graphics control. Technology of scanning used in laser graphics system LS-3500-1OM essentially differs from widely spread systems based on galvanometers with mobile core or with mobile magnet. Such devices are based on the same principle of work as electrically driven servo-mechanism. As scanner we use elastic system with hydraulic dampen oscillations and opened loop. For most of applications of laser graphics such system provides satisfactory precision and speed of scanning. LS-3500-1OM software gives user ability to create on PC and play his own laser graphics demonstrations. It is possible to render recognizable text and pictures using different styles, 3D and abstract animation. All types of demonstrations can be mixed in slide-show. Time synchronization is supported. Software has the following features: (1) Different types of text output. Built-in text editor for typing and editing of textural information. Different fonts can be used to display text. User can create his own fonts using specially developed font editor. (2) Editor of 3D animation with library of predefined shapes. (3) Abstract animation provided by software routines. (4) Support of different graphics files formats (PCX or DXF). Original algorithm of raster image tracing was implemented. (5) Built-in slide-show editor. * TIME-RESOLVED LASER DOPPLER MEASUREMENTS IN THE UNDEREXPANDED JET OF A MODEL GAS-BLAST CIRCUIT BREAKER UNDER ARCING CONDITIONS., Todorovic, P. S.; Jones, Gordon R.;, IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science v PS-13 n 3, p 153-162, 1985, 11 Abstract : A differential laser Dopper system has been used in conjunction with a self-triggered oscillographic raster display system for measuring particle concentrations and flow velocities in a model gas-blast circuit breaker. The flow velocities have been correlated with particle size to permit use of extrapolation for to determining the true plasma flow velocity. The results have been deconvoluted to take account of lateral movements of the arc column. The measurements were taken with air as the host arcing medium and a flow through a 25-mm-diameter orifice sustained by an upstream pressure of about 7 bar (downstream pressure 1 bar). The arc was sustained by sinusoidal currents of peak values 3 and 8 kA and a frequency of 85 Hz. These two currents correspond respectively, to conditions when the model circuit breaker successfully and unsuccessfully interrupted the arc-sustaining current.
