MONTE CARLO CALCULATION OF ENERGY RESPONSE FUNCTIONS FOR A LITHIUM GLASS SCINTILLATOR FOR NEUTRONS BETWEEN 1 AND 6 MeV., Weaver, D. R., Nucl Instrum Methods v 131 n 3, p 529-533, 1975, 8 Refs.; CODEN: NUIMAL Abstract : Energy response functions have been calculated for a cylinder of NE905 lithium glass scintillator which was 44 mm in diameter and 25 mm long. The calculations were performed by the Monte Carlo method in the neutron energy range 1 to 6 MeV. The neutron detection efficiency, as a function of discriminator setting, has been derived from the response functions and has been compared with experimental measurements. Reasons are given for the increase in efficiency above 2 MeV. 아래의 자료들은 해외 상용 DB인 DIALOG를 통해 검색된 관련 자료들입니다. 참고해 보시기 바랍니다. 1. 1/9/1 (Item 1 from file: 2) 03354165 INSPEC Abstract Number: A89046746, B89034611 Title: Thermal flux perturbation of lithium-glass scintillator Author Yamaguchi, S. The (n, alpha ) reaction rates were measured for the various glass scintillators for four different thicknesses and three different /sup 6/Li contents. It was shown that the decrease of the reaction rate due to the flux perturbation is 66% for 1 mm thick, 6.3% /sup 6/Li content glass, and 3% for 0.1 mm thick, 1.0% /sup 6/Li content glass. A calculation of the flux perturbation was performed by the modified Skyrme theory and close agreement with the measurement was obtained. The self-shielding effect was also calculated by a Monte Carlo method and its dependence on energy was discussed. This is a highly sensitive on-line method for measuring the TPR of /sup 6/Li by using a pair of small /sup 6/Li- and /sup 7/Li-glass scintillators. The objective of these experiments was to examine experimentally the effect of these structural materials on /sup 6/Li TPR distributions. Issued by: UKAEA, Harwell, Oxon., UK Publication Date: Oct. 1978 Country of Publication: UK 20 pp. Report Number: AERE-R8967 Availability: HMSO, London, UK Language: English Document Type: Report (RP) Treatment: Experimental (X) Abstract: The shape of the pulse-height response of a lithium-glass scintillator detector to neutrons has been measured in the range of neutron energies from 33 eV to 1.170 MeV using time-of-flight techniques. The variation of the width and mean pulse height of the distributions with neutron energy has been studied. An attempt has been made to interpret the spectra obtained at 'black resonances' in the time-of-flight spectrum. The significance of these results with regard to the 'black resonance' method of background determination is discussed and the need for further studies emphasised.
