DTT (dithiothreitol; Cleland’s reagent) is used to quantitatively reduce disulfide bonds and maintain monothiols in a reduced state. At low concentrations, DTT stabilizes enzymes and other proteins which possess free sulfhydryl groups and has been shown to restore activity lost by oxidation of these groups in vitro. At a final 0.1 M concentration DTT is also widely used for disruption of protein disulfide bonds in SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. -

>DTT (dithiothreitol) 기능은 무엇인가요? 간단하게 disulfide bond를 저해하는 기능이라고 보시면 됩니다. Description: UltraPure™ Dithiothreitol (DTT, Cleland's reagent), which reduces disulfides to their corresponding thiols, is used at low concentrations to stabilize enzymes containing free sulfhydryl groups. Higher concentrations of DTT are used to cleave disulfide linkages in polypeptides and to facilitate protein denaturation by detergents or chaotropic agents.
