- The Korean American Students Association of UCSD was established in 1985 by a group of Korean students who wished to promote the Korean culture among and around the Korean community at UCSD and city of San Diego. Starting with only a handful of students, KASA has grown both in size and student participation in subgroups - Korean American Journal, Korean Studies Academic supports, and KHOS (The biggest party thrower) to become the largest ethnic constituent at UCSD. Especially N.I.X (Networking Interactive Xpression) has been doing a great job on maintaining Webpage and on many other tech. supports in order to help our brothers and sitsters keep pace up with this computerized imformation age. Over a decade old, KASA continues to enrich, educate, and serve the SD community as a part of a greater whole. Annual activities, such as the KASA Picnic, attest to KASA's commitment to public service while the Club dances and Ski Trip are held to provide a social medium through which students can get to know one another. Weekly and biweekly meetings, talks, dinners, and events are planned every year and attended by any interested student. In addition, KASA is also a member of the Asian American Students of UCSD, Southern Cal College Association (Chong De), the Ethnic Community Relations Council, and a host of other representative forums and groups to communicate and help others with parallel goals. There is a community to be found through our common heritage as Korean Americans. We don't know each other, but there is a imagined community within us: we can feel there are us. That is because same Korean blood flowing through our body. Our identity, Korean, is something that we cannot alter. We have beneficially utilize throughout our lives. We humbly bring to you, in ways never seen before, the Korean American Student Association at UCSD. We want to accurately represent the attitudes of Korean American students so I urge you to make us represent you well. We want to educate those issues and elements of our experience that are worth conveying so make those issues and elements known. We want to provide useful resources to y'all so tell us what you want. And KASA aims to make a good time out of it all so come on out and join us.. Jason PArk, Susan Lee
