Today concrete should have high-performance, function and durability as concrete structures become larger and higher thanks to significant progress and development of construction technology in recent years. Research and development of chemical admixture for concrete has also grown rapidly and its usage is on the increase.
In order to help establish economic society for sustainable development at the 21st century when environment is more important, Architectural Construction Management & Material Lab., under the tutelage of Professor Song Ha-young and Professor Kim Eul-Yong from 1995 to face up to such reality and proactively respond to it, has carried out various researches on development of high quality recycled aggregate and the concrete using it which enable to basically reduce the amount of construction waste by changing construction industry into environmentally friendly one to achieve higher construction productivity while preserving environment, and on technology development for high performance, durability and fluidity of concrete which is major structural material for most infrastructure in the modern society of today. Based on which, the laboratory also provides technology guidance for companies and R&D projects by the government including the Ministry of Construction and Transportation and Korea Science and Engineering Foundation and makes constant efforts to improve competitiveness of the university for the global age by academic exchange and technology accumulation through academic conferences at home and abroad and international symposiums.
