Robotics Research Laboratory was founded to solve the problems in the area of robotics and control systems in 1985.
For robotics research, path planning and control of redundant manipulators and an real time programming system have been studied. Currently we put emphasis on sensor fusion, robot vision, and path planning for intelligent autonomous robot systems. As projects, we are carrying out "Development of the face mechanism for the emotional expression of a silver-mate robot " , "Development of Technology for Working Assist Mobile Robot" and "Research on application systems based on brain information processing mechanism"
For control research, intelligent control such as fuzzy logic control and iterative learning control, and robust control such as VSC and H-infinity for accommodating system uncertainty and time-delay are studied in conjunction with robot systems.
From 1985 to 2006, 77 Masters and 30 Ph.Ds have been produced from this lab. Most of them are working in various industry research labs. Currently 7 Master students and 6 Ph.D. students are being actively involved in the research in robotics and control.
