With creative ideas and enthusiastic passions, we are trying to understand the relationship between chemical bonding natures and physicochemical properties of inorganic compounds to provide novel efficient methodologies to synthesize new functional materials applicable for renewable energy technologies, environmental purifications, and nanobio technologies.

Using diverse low-dimensional nanostructured compounds (especially exfoliated inorganic 2D nanosheets) as building blocks,
we are synthesizing advanced nanohybrid materials such as porous nanohybrids and heterostructured multilayers.
As a result of synergistic coupling between hybridized nanostructures, we are able to explore lots of novel functional nanomaterials with
optimized applicabilities as photocatalysts, electrocatalysts, electrodes for many secondary batteries, supercapacitors, and photovoltaics,
greenhouse gas adsorbents, biomaterial storage/delivery vectors, bio-sensors, and so on.
