The main research interest of our group has been focused on the development of novel nano-devices through a combination of bottom-up based self-assembly of nanomaterials and top-down based nano-processing methods. Based on this basic idea, we can realize the successful fabrication of integrated nanostructures of polymeric and inorganic nanomaterials. As a basic tool for the bottom-up based self-assembly, layer-by-layer assembly of polyelectrolytes is mainly employed, which enables the construction of function-controllable and scalable nanostructures of charged nanomaterials. Subsequently, top-down based nano-processing of non-conventional nanolithography, such as nano-stamping and capillary force lithography, is further applied for the realization of a broad range of applications for biosensors, nano-electronic devices, nano-optical devices and the next generation solar cells.
