■ Research Program in PSSL
We have focused on general process systems areas since opened in 1983. Our main topics have been monitoring, fault diagnosis, control, modeling, simulation and optimization of chemical processes. As a result, energy management system for large/middle and middle/small sized boiler plants (ENDS, ENiGMA), knowledge-based expert system for PP and BTX processes (FINDS/PP, FINDS/BTX), and the first dynamic simulator in Korea (MOSA/DSS) were developed. Recently process safety is one of our main research activities. Automatic hazard analyzer for continuous chemical process (AHA) was developed. New automatic hazard analyzer for both continuous and batch processes is being developed. As well we are developing risk assessment program in chemical process to give relevant emergency response plans and suggestions of protection equipment, and to evaluate effect area when accidents happen in chemical processes. Our research activities are as follows.1.
