Smart Systems And Structures lab.

Welcome to “Smart Systems and Structures Laboratory: Design & Control.”

The lab is directed by Prof. Jae-Hung Han, and around ten members are studying together. The research missions of Triple S Lab. are to develop new technologies and systems that utilize the smart materials and structures, and information technology (electronics) with the emphases on elegant design and reliable control. In order to achieve these goals, it is required to broaden fundamental understanding of smart materials that possess multifunctional capabilities as well as to understand traditional mechanics. The use of smart materials and technologies give us a chance to design mechanical and aerospace structures for better system performances such as low vibration, high precision, additional functionalities (e.g. radar absorbing, health monitoring). These developed technologies are mainly targeted on domestic aerospace and defense programs; however we are also interested in the technology demonstration through some “lab models” such as “Bio-inspired Ornithotpers.”
