Welcome to Power System Laboratory in Seoul National University.
The Laboratory was established in the electrical engineering department of S.N.U in 1997. Prof. Moon has many activities for new power system, smart grid. With the guidance of Prof. Moon, 8 ph. D and 19 master degrees have been granted in the field of power system.
PSL is concerned with power system and smart grid. The lab focuses on electric power system generation, transmission, distribution system. Nowadays, the lab focuses on the smart grid and researches it. Smart grid to supply electricity efficiently is needed in order to solve environmental problems, energy depletion.

We are working on a project in the field of Micro Grid, Wind, Smart Grid. Micro grid consists of multiple distributed generation and load. It is possible to grid-tied or stand-alone power system operation. Due to the depletion of fossil fuels, it is important to the development of renewable energy. We try to improve the reliability of wind power to be used as a great renewable energy sources. To realize the smart grid, we research on advanced distribution system. It will be able to supply power efficiently. We perform the project through modeling using the simulation and computer simulation.
Current power system has many problems that include a centralized power supply system, large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, the lab study efficient power systems and try to contribute to the life of humanity.
