The immune system is the core of defense of the host towards pathogenesis. Despite the development of many antibiotics, many infectious diseases still threaten humans. Another alternative of usting immunological principles to prevent pathogenesis is an active area of research worldwide. Furthermore, aging of the population made possible by higher standards of living makes people more susceptible to malignant tumors and autoimmune disease. This has also brought attention to importance of organ transplants. To diagnose, treat and prevent these disease, the understanding of the immune system is of great importance.
