The Large-scale scientific computation (LSC) is a core tool in verifying theories and in providing a virtual laboratory in modern science. In KIAS there are several fundamental research areas which require heavy scientific computations; quantum information, protein folding, mathematical information, astrophysics, statistical and condensed physics, and high energy particle physics (accelerator and QCD). The KIAS Center for Advanced Computation will provide both the possibility of the large-scale coworks and the practical hardware for the research network between domestic fundamental scientists.
