Computer Science and Engineering at Korea University. The MobiDE Research Group was founded in March, 2003 by Prof. SangKeun Lee. With the vision of “Towards R and D Excellence”, MobiDE members have been conducting “One-of-a-kind” research supervised by Prof. Lee. The research issues of our laboratory are three-fold: 1. Big Data Analytics: In information technology, Big Data is a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications….more 2. Topic Modeling: Topic modeling are algorithms for discovering the main themes that pervade in the documents collections and can organize the collection according to the discovered themes. Web Mining: Web mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover patterns from the Web.According to analysis targets, Web mining can be divided into three different types, including Web usage mining, Web content mining and Web structure mining. Our research group has been developing innovative and novel Web mining systems, including contextual advertising engine and personalization engine for smart devices. We are also interested in inferring user intents from massive amount of social network data, which requires integration of Web mining algorithms with big data analytics.
