Dr. Seong's laboratory focuses on understanding the underlying mechanism of Huntington's disease (HD) and particularly interests in HD phenotypes caused by full-length huntingtin with precise genetic Hdh knock-in cells/mice models and HD human patient cells. Since his laboratory has developed a system to express and purify high quality full-length human huntingtin proteins with different polyglutamine lengths, his research aims to identify the effects of the polyglutamine track size on huntingtin structure and function in various biochemical and functional assays.
