In the reaction and separation nanomaterials laboratory(RSNL) of CNU, various nanomaterials such as microporous membranes, nanocatalysts, and nanporous adsorbents are synthesized via liquid- and/or vapor-phase processes. And then, their applications to energy sector such as carbon dioxide capture, biorefinery, hydrogen production, water splitting, syngas clean-up, pollutant remediation, water purification, desalination, and so on are systematically studied. Especially, Prof. Churl-Hee Cho has a great interest on microporous materials (i.g. zeolites, carbon molecular sieves, metal-organic frameworks, silica, and so on) and semiconducting materials (i.g. titania, tin oxide, tungsten oxide, and so on) with a shape of particle (adsorbent and catalyst) or thin film (membrane). Nowdays, he is extending his research activity to organic-inorganic hybrid materials such as mixed matrix membranes and inorganic supported polymeric membranes.
