Visual Communications Laboratory (VC Lab) opened in 1995 for research on theoretical studies and practical applications of multimedia data processing and communication technologies. We mainly focus on multimedia data compression, realistic broadcasting, MPEG/JVT international standardization, and so on. Our lab is equipped with hybrid camera systems (multi-view HD and multi-view depth cameras), multi-view display devices for 3D scene display, and high-end workstations for algorithm developments and testing. Our work will lead the commercialization of next generation broadcasting and visual communications.
