- Goal:
To observe and understand ocean variability at various temporal (ranging from minutes to multi-decades) and spatial (ranging from centi-meters to hundreds of kilometers) scales
- Objectives:
1. To develop/improve state-of-the-art ocean observing systems in collaboration with industry/academic partners
2. To analyze oceanographic in-situ data collected from multiple ocean observing platforms/sensors at local, regional, and global scales
3. To better understand physical oceanographic processes affecting underwater acoustics, ocean biogeochemistry, marine ecosystem, air-sea interaction, fisheries, marine meteorology, and climate change/variability.
