- A primary goal of Choong Je Ma’s natural products research is to find new drug candidate to treat Alzheimer’s disease from natural products (especially medicinal plants). Using bioassay-guided isolation assists us in the discovery of natural products potent against human diseases such as Alzheimer’s diseases.
- Our search for novel active compounds incorporates elements of structure elucidation using by 1D NMR, Mass, 2D NMR such as HMBC, HMQC, COSY, TOCSY, NOESY. Also, we elucidated pharmacological mechanisms of drug candidate for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
