Welcome to the website of the Kwon Research Group led by Professor Yongwoo Kwon under Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Hongik University located in Seoul, South Korea!
Our primary interest is the computational study of the relationship between the processing-structure-property of materials and the resulting performance of electrical and mechanical components. Phase-field method (PFM) is used for modeling microstructure evolution in combination with finite element based softwares for electrical, thermal, mechanical, and fluid dynamics simulations. We are closely working with experimentalists and other computational researchers who are specialized in first-principles and molecular dynamics. Our topics encompass diverse materials including metals, semiconductors, and ceramics.
