RESEARCH SCOPE:
*Novel applications of gamma-ray, electron-beam and X-rays in the field of food science and technology (hygienic quality/quarantine assurance of different commodities for international trade and domestic distribution)
*Identification of irradiated food by the analysis of photostimulated- & thermo-luminescence, electron spin resonance, hydrocarbons and 2-alkylcyclobutanone by GC/MS, DEFT/APC, DNA comet assay, etc.
*Microwave-assisted extraction of phytochemicals/target components from plant/animal matrices (prediction and optimization of process/reaction conditions, monitoring/interpretation of food reaction and quality responses)
