Plant Systematics is the study of plant diversity. This course provides an introduction to the principles and practice of botanical systematics. Plant Systematics introduces the principles and methods of identifying, naming and classifying flowering plants. It includes a survey of selected flowering plant families and provides information on their interrelationships. Through the lectures are readings you will learns: ① How plant systematists discover, describe and classify plant diversity, including ICN (International Code of Nomenclature), ② The major features and evolutionary origins of vascular plants, and their phylogenetic analysis, ③ The analysis and experimental tools (e.g., evidence/disciplines of plant systematics) used to understand the plant diversity.
