Research areas of our lab have been centered on wireless networks. Although wired networks, e.g., the Internet and optical networks, are not intended to be excluded, wireless networks have been a primary source for supplying us several interesting study items. In fact, wireless networks themselves are too broad to cover as study topic. Our lab is primarily interested in Layer 2 and Layer 3 in OSI terms. Current research items are listed below :
- Wireless sensor networks (WSN)
Energy-efficient MAC design
Energy-efficient routing protocol
IEEE 802.15.4 and Zigbee
- Wireless ad-hoc networks
Medium access control protocol design
Ad-hoc routing protocols
Self-organizing technology
Wireless LAN Mobility
- Wireless Internet
Mobility support
TCP over wireless
- Wireless networks
Medium access control (MAC) protocol design
Quality-of-service (QoS) support and mechanism design
Network coding
Game theory
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
Anti-collision protocol
Localization/Positioning
Design of access mechanism for enhanced throughput performance.
