Brief Biography
Jongik Kim received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in 1998 and 2000, respectively. He received his Ph.D in Computer Engineering from Seoul National University in 2004. He worked as a senior researcher at ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) from 2004 to 2007. He joined Division of Computer Science & Engineering at Chonbuk National University as a faculty member in 2007. He was a visiting scholar at UCI (University of California, Irvine) from 2012 to 2013. He has been working in the area of semi-structured database (XML database), telematics systems, flash-memory data management, event stream processing, and similarity query processing.
