Wireless Information Systems Engineering Lab

Artificial Intelligence
Wireless Information Systems Engineering Laboratory:

In 2014, we have celebrated 20 years of excellence, marking its milestones in education and researches. Since 1994, more than 70 students graduated from the LAB with the advanced degrees (MS or Ph.D degrees in Engineering). Our alumni are actively contributing invarious fields of academia, industries, and government. The WISELAB offers the graduates students the unique opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a leading-edge research environment. We participates in a variety of research projects through which students gain the practical experience while investigating career paths in mobile communications systems and services. The WISELAB focuses on the design and optimization of mobile communication systems and networks with special emphasis on physical layer/medium access control (MAC) layer design, including radio resource management. Our research is typically based on understanding the broad aspects of commercial mobile systems across the physical layer through network layer, on top of various theories, such as communication & information theory, queuing theory, game theory, optimization theory, and graph theory. Furthermore, some of our on-going tasks areto explore a new paradigm of the wireless green technologies and distributed nano-bandwidth aggregator with the objective of designing the ever distributed and self-organizing multi-mode wireless communication systems and machine-to-machine applications. Our current objective is to develop the innovative 5G technologies that support rapidly growing mobile traffic and a massive number of devices, and to establish the wireless integrated service engineering technologies that provide mobile big data/cloud-oriented services in the future. We identify the major components of these research and development efforts as:
