Over the past decades, the self-assembly approach has developed into a powerful technique for synthesis of nanostructures. Particularly, porphyrins have become one of the most attractive building blocks for self-assemblies because of their photophysical and photochemical properties that are important in many technological applications. We are particularly interested in the rational synthesis of porphyrin based unique nanoscopic functional materials including nano particles and supramolecules showing properties in catalysis, sensing, solar energy application and photo-/electro-conductivity. These nanoscopic materials would be obtained via modular self-assembly approach with a judicious combination of organic and inorganic synthetic techniques and manipulations. |
