연구 분야 (RESEARCH INTERESTS)
The researches of Phycology Lab. are focused on the ecological perspectives on microalgal communities in rivers and lakes. The seasonal dynamics of phytoplankton in lakes and rivers of southwest Korea are main research topics since 2000. We are also interested in benthic diatoms in tidal flats of southwest coast of Korea. For several years, we have been studied the community structure of Youngsan and Seomjin River Basins with our nationwide colleagues.
- Examples of our researches are as follows:
- The microflora of reservoirs in Youngsan and Seomjin River Basins.
- The biological assessment of water quality by benthic diatoms in rivers.
- Benthic algal flora in Saemankum tidal flats.
- Benthic diatoms in Hampyeong tidal flats.
조류학 실험실의 연구분야는 강과 호수의 미세조류 생태의 전반적인 내용이다. 한국의 남서부 지역에 분포하는 강과 호수의 식물플랑크톤, 부착조류 동태에 관한 연구는 가장 핵심적인 연구분야로 2000년부터 수행하고 있다. 남서해안의 갯벌에 분포하는 규조에 대한 연구도 수행중이다. 2005년부터 2007년까지 3년간 영산강과 섬진강의 군집구조를 연구하기도 했다.
- 현재 연구 중인 과제는 다음과 같다.
- 영산강과 섬진강 수계 저수지의 미세조류상
- 부착규조를 이용한 하천(영산강섬진강 수계)의 수질평가
- 함평만 갯벌의 부착조류
- 영산강섬진강 수계 강과 호수의 건강성 평가
