Welcome!
We are working in the field of Neutron Science(중성자과학) and Radiological Science/Medical Physics(방사선의과학) in general. We are developing radiation beam techniques to benefit material science and medical applications. We use large scale beam facilities like research reactors and accelerators for state-of-the-art academic research as well as small scale laboratory machines for commercialization. I’m actively collaborating with domestic and international research partners in the field. I believe this research field is very active and promising with very interesting applications and many exciting international collaborations. I think this research area is very suitable for young talented scientists and engineers with curiosity and creativity for humanity. I hope there is a great opportunity for the laboratory and this laboratory will be one of the leading laboratories in the world in the near future.
Specifically, the current research interests in my laboratory are:
- Advanced X-ray imaging techniques and instrumentation for biomedical science and medicine
- Advanced neutron imaging and scattering techniques for energy material science
- Machine learning methods for X-ray and neutron imaging
- Advanced computed tomography theory and algorithms
- Development of commercial X-ray imaging systems with industrial partners
- Developments of neutron instruments for the large scale neutron facilities based on reactors or accelerators
- Developments of neutron instruments for compact neutron sources using accelerators
- Research on medical radiation therapy Instruments and smart tumor-tracking imaging system
- Health physics study for decommissioning of radiation facilities such as cyclotrons or nuclear reactors
