Welcome to Center for Photonic Systems (CPS) or Photonic Systems Lab.

CPS was established in 2013 when Jinyong Ha left Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology to take the assistant professor at Sejong University.
We focus on the development of optical technologies to find medical benefits in clinical setting and innovative solutions for next-generation wireless communication & power transmission in IoT. To understand the most important issues and problems in medicine, biology, and ICT, we take multidiscipline approaches which are sometimes outside of normal engineering boundaries and try to reach solutions based on a new understanding of diverse and complex situations.

To be more specific, we are mainly interested in developing optical imaging technologies in cardiology, oncology, and IT. The main projects include the development of optical coherence tomography systems, high speed wavelength swept lasers, and micro-endoscopes. Our recent research also focuses on deep learning in medical image analysis and development of a wireless power transmission system in IoT by expanding the application of in-house imaging technology to other types of new subjects.
