IDW(International Display Workshops)은 매년 5월 미국에서 개최되는 SID, 매년 10월경 한국에서 개최되는 IMID, 매년 유럽에서 개최되는 Eurodisplay와 더불어 세계 4대 디스플레이 학회로 꼽히는 국제학회로써 매년 12월경 일본에서 개최된다. 본 학회에서는 LCD, PDP와 같은 대표적인 평판형 디스플레이를 포함하여 최근 주목받고 있는 LED 조명 기술에 이르기까지 다양한 정보전자디스플레이의 최신 기술동향들이 소개되기때문에 이를 분석, 요약함으로써 국내 관련 연구자들에게 매우 소중한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 본 분석을 신청한 분석자는 최근 몇 년간 IDW 학회의 분석보고서를 제출하였고 이것이 [전자부품]에 KOSEN Report로 두 차례 소개된 바 있다. 이번에도 학회에 참석하여 발표를 할 예정이므로 본 학회의 분석보고서 작성을 신청한다.
