본 리뷰 논문은 바이오디젤 생산과 사용에 관련된 기술적, 경제적, 환경적, 사회적, 독성학적, 인체 건강 등의 영향을 종합적으로 살펴보았다. 대표적인 신재생에너지 중에 하나인 바이오디젤은 국내보다는 해외에서 더 크게 발전되고 상용화되어 있는 실정으로, 신정부의 원전축소 기조에 따라 신재생에너지가 다시금 주목받을 수 있는 시기가 올 것으로 예상된다.
