The network technologies research done by VTT Electronics is an important part of our strategic research. Our experiences have been positive in a large number of international collaborative projects (conducted e.g. in ACTS and ESPRIT programmes). Hende it is my pleasure to invite you on behalf of our management and research staff to consider collaborative research with us in V Framework IST Programme. I also use this opportunity to state that our research is always aimed ti scientific and technological results that are as high quality as possible. This means that our collabarative projects are synchronized with our strategy and core-values; we are not conducting joint research just for collaboration and/or financial benefit. We believe that this commitment is beneficial for everyone involved in long-term reserch with us. In this small broucher and attached theme papers you find a short description of our research focus areas and initial proposals. Quite many of these proposals are discussed with several potential partners, but new partners are still welcome. The booklet shortly introduces both our Wireless Internet Laboratory and Telecommunications Electronics research program. These on-going programs are forming a large part of our core research in network and telecommunication technologies.
