    Redox Biology (RB)

The course is designed for NIH fellows to enhance their knowledge of redox biology. Reactive species such as superoxide, hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide are associated with cellular toxicity, however, nitric oxide is useful in the treatment cardiovascular disease. The course will examine the role of reactive nitrogen and oxygen species in carcinogenesis, cancer proliferation and angiogenesis.

  • DCLG Summit: Office of Liaison Activities and the Role of Advocates at NCI ??Balcony C
    • - NCI (2010/03/04)
    • - Category : Conferences
The DCLG has planned two activity-filled days during which you can learn about NCI and each other, enhance NCI's understanding of your organization and constituency, share experiences and insights, and discuss the future of cancer research. Presenters ranging from NCI leadership to participants in NCI clinical trials will offer a variety of perspectives. We are especially excited about the Poster Picnic, which will give us all a chance to learn about the innovative programs that community organizations have created around the country. The Summit, dedicated to the memory of former DCLG Executive Secretary Nancy Marie Caliman, is designed to be interactive and to include broad representation from the entire cancer community, with special attention on organizations that work with the medically underserved.

The theme for this year???s conference, Child Support Enforcement ??? 30 Years and Counting!, reflects the Child Support Enforcement program???s 30-year commitment to improving the lives of America???s families. The program???s original goal???financial support for families???remains its basis today. As we look to the future, we know that working effectively with our partners is vital to improving services to those families, and key to better overall family outcomes. We look forward to applying the strategies in our roadmap for the next five years???the national child support enforcement strategic plan for 2005-2009.

Join your colleagues for a look at QUOSA(r) Information Manager. QUOSA is an integrated suite of software tools designed to facilitate full-article retrieval and management, and full-text searching. It simplifies searching, downloading, and managing your PDFs and PubMED(r) citations. But the most exciting and valuable aspect of this product is that it allows you to go from searching and viewing your PubMED results to obtaining the full text (and providing full text searching functionality), even across thousands of articles. QUOSA software is available to all staff at NCI, NEI, NIAID, and certain sections of NICHD and NIMH. NIH Library staff provides reference support to QUOSA users, just as we do for other products frequently used by NIH. (QUOSA software is available only through an individual or institute's purchase of a seat.) Download your copy from
