    A Seminar presented by the GMAC Subcommittee on Training

    Join us when the 'experts' provide live demonstrations of the commons, but from the Grantee's perspective. This seminar will explain how the information in the NIH eRA Commons affects us as Grants Managers. It will include a discussion of what the Commons is, how it works, and what the grantee is using.

    The Cools Tools presentation will include new functionalities on topics such as eSNAP, Commons, Close-out, and Population Tracking as well as a quick review of the old favorites. After the presentation, they will have time for questions.

This workshop will explore Interest Based Bargaining, a model for negotiating when there is conflict. Learn the difference between "solutions" and "interests," language tools for reframing issues, phrases that lead to miscommunication, and language tools for success.

    Last year the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council were asked to conduct a study examining the organizational structure of the National Institutes of Health. In particular, the study committee was tasked with considering whether there are general principles along which the NIH should be organized, whether the current organizational structure reflects those principles, what could be done to improve the NIH's ability to conduct biomedical research and training in the future. This presentation will discuss some of the principal findings of the study and their implications.
